No Reading Glasses

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) is a non-laser vision correction procedure that uses radio waves to help restore near vision for patients with presbyopia. CK was designed for farsighted individuals over the age of 40 who would like an alternative to wearing reading glasses.

CK uses the controlled release of radiofrequency (RF) energy to reshape corneal tissue. Until recently, surgeons who wanted to enhance near vision would do so by producing what is known as monovision during LASIK. But in 2004 the FDA approved a procedure called conductive keratoplasty, giving surgeons another option.

Less Wrinkles

Botox® is a highly purified, naturally occurring protein that has the ability to very precisely relax the muscles to which it is applied. In the 70's ophthalmologists began injecting it into tiny eye muscles to treat “lazy eye.” In the 80's, the drug was used to correct other facial, eyelid and limb diseases such as tremors and spasms. It was during a procedure in the late 1980's that the cosmetic benefit was first noticed.

If dynamic wrinkles (related only to the movement of underlying muscle) are starting to make you look older or more “negative”, Botox® can help restore the rested, confident appearance you desire.

It can take up to two weeks to see effects. In most cases the treatment last for 4-6 months, and continued use can prevent new wrinkles from forming.

Less Sweating

Botox® can also be administered to reduce excessive sweating. It can be used for an important event, during hot weather, or year-round.

After Botox® treatment, excess sweating starts to decrease within a couple of days, and the full effect is reached in a week or two. The goal of Botox® is reduction of sweating to a normal level.

Blade-Free LASIK

IntraLase is a sophisticated, bladeless approach to creating the corneal flap, or thin layer of tissue that the surgeon folds back to expose the part of the eye that is reshaped during the LASIK procedure. With IntraLase, LASIK is not only 100% blade-free, but safer than ever and more precise.

This computer-controlled laser technology works by delivering rapid pulses of light, a quadrillionth of a second each, to a pre-programmed depth and position within the cornea. Each pulse forms a microscopic bubble. As the IntraLase laser moves back and forth across the eye, the bubbles are connected so they form a corneal flap. Just prior to LASIK surgery, the doctor gently lifts the flap where these bubbles have created a smooth surface.

Customized LASIK

WaveScan® technology identifies and measures imperfections in an individual's vision 25 times more precisely than standard methods used for glasses and contact lenses. CustomVue™ is an individualized laser vision correction treatment that is WaveScan®-guided. Then, the treatment information is transferred to the laser. The surgeon then uses that information to fine-tune the procedure thereby providing a new level of precision and accuracy.

These advancements are just what many patients have been waiting for.
